Serial killer Rodney Alcala pleads guilty to New York murders

Rodney Alcala, a one-time contestant on “The Dating Game,” faces a likely prison term of 25-years-to-life for his crimes in New York, the Associated Press reported.

Thousands Of Damaged Cars Are Headed For Nigeria.

As we all know, the eastern coast of the United States was devastated by Hurricane Sandy in
late October 2012. Incidentally, the east coast is where the major Ports are located. One of
these major Ports is at Bayonne, New Jersey. After the storm, it was revealed that more than
10,000 cars awaiting shipment to Africa and South America were severely damaged. The damages
include:

· Flood Damage
· Fire Damage
· Body Damage

The damages were so severe that the shipping lines refused to accept the cars for shipment
and asked the owners to remove them from the Port. If you are wondering why the shipping
lines refused to continue with the shipping, it is because the cars were no longer functional.
To load a car on ship, somebody has to actually start it and drive it onto the ship. If a
car cannot start, most shipping lines will not accept it. If they do, they will charge you
a heavy surcharge called Non-Running Vehicle Surcharge.

I wouldn't have written this article if the story ended here. But then something remarkable
happened. Some of these shipping lines turned around and said they will ship these damaged
cars to Africa if the owners put them in a container. Many people took this option and as a
result, these cars are now headed to Nigeria. Some are already in Lagos as we speak while
others will be arriving shortly.

The unfortunate thing is that these flooded and damaged cars will not show up on Carfax or
Autocheck. Carfax and Autocheck do not track cars once they are shipped out of the US. So
the last entry you will see for these cars in VIN reports is: "Exported to Nigeria - October
2012.

So Buyer Beware.

P.S: The picture below shows containers over-turned by hurricane Sandy at Bayonne Port. This
will give you an idea of the force of the storm.

Should A Married Woman Wear A Short & Revealing Dress

Please should a married woman (with a child )dress like this to an event all cos of fashion. Mbanuuu!

That was what i was trying to tell some people yesterday, when some girls wrote to disagree with my opinion. but i guess our views can not be the same.and culture differs. like a lady from yankee was trying to prove to me yesterday that there's notin wrong in what she was wearing, cos its a normal thing in america. and while trying to make her realize that our culture and the way we see things are quite different from theirs, she took offence. there are some certain things we can emulate from oyinbos, but not everything. a married woman ought to respect herself and also carry herself well in public. if single ladies are piercing their nose, ears , and wearing bum shorts up and down in public, should a married woman do the same thing? mbanuuu!

Police Give Conflicting Details Regarding Okonjo-Iweala's Mother's Escape From Kidnappers

The official story given by police to explain the release of kidnapped Prof. Kamene Okonjo, mother of Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is raising doubt about the real circumstances surrounding her escape.

At a press conference, Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ikechukwu Aduba, said the Queen Mother was freed by her abductors after five days in confinement and taken home by motorcycle from Kwale, 50 kilometers away. The young man who dropped off Mrs. Okonjo has been arrested and is being questioned, police said.

What remains confusing is the mode of transportation of Professor Okonjo on a motorbike from the scene of freedom to her home if actually the police stormed the kidnappers hideout and rescued her as being claimed.

With the case "resolved," it remains unclear whether those arrested in recent days in connection with the kidnapping would be released or charged.

The Queen Mother of Ogwashi-Uku was kidnapped last Sunday at aboaut 1:47 p.m. by 10 armed kidnappers at her husband’s palace.

Unofficial sources told our reporter that the Queen Mother managed to free herself unassisted, but an updated police version of the story alleges that police stormed the kidnappers’ den in Asaba, the state capital, where they killed one suspect, Nwaze Nwosa aka Bolaji, arrested another gang member and shot four members of the gang who escaped with bullet wounds.

It is unclear what role the storming of a location in Asaba had to do with the kidnap victim regaining her freedom in Kwale. Also unknown is whether a ransom was paid to facilitate her release.

Earlier, the Police Command blamed "insiders" for orchestrating the Queen Mother’s abduction, and they unmasked the identity of 25 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and pipeline vandals that have been terrorizing the oil rich state.

Briefing journalists at the command headquarters in Asaba today, CP Aduba said the sensitive nature of Queen Mother Okonjo’s kidnap made the command beam its searchlight on any obvious errors or lapses either on the part of the palace guards or the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ogwashi-Uku. He said the release of the victim involved the combined efforts of the crack team of policemen deployed by the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar, and the proactiveness of men of the Special Anti-Crime Squad (SARS).

According to him, “the Delta State Police supported by a crack team from IGP’s Special Task Force on Terrorism, Abuja, consciously and professionally with due caution collated intelligence on the activities of the hoodlums and struck their hideouts in Asaba.” He said the manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang was on and that the command would not rest until they were arrested.

He displayed the items recovered from their hideouts to include an ash-coloured Golf 3 car with registration number DELTA ASB 697 AA, which he said had been used to transport the Queen Mother out of the palace; and a white Toyota bus, labeled God’s Delight Church International, with registration number ANAMBRA KPP 64 XA.

A Police source in the state told SaharaReporters that the dead leader of the kidnap gang had been on the most wanted list for his alleged involvement in a series of kidnapping and violent crimes in the state. He also stated that the Delta state police command once arrested him and charged him with various crimes, but he was released without trial and kidnappings continue unabated in the state.

Mrs Okonjo is a retired professor of sociology at the University of Nigeria in Nsukka.
Her husband, Obi Chukwuka Okonjo Agbogidi, a retired professor of economics, is the traditional ruler of the Ogwashi-Uku kingdom in Delta State.

A Panamanian woman has been arrested in Spain with fake bosom implants that turned out to be plastic bags containing 1.4kg of cocaine.

When the 20-year-old was stopped for a search at Barcelona's Prat international airport, police noticed that she had gauze under her bosoms.

She said she had had plastic surgery two months before, but the wounds were open and she was still bleeding.

She was taken to hospital, where the cocaine bags were removed.

Spanish police say thousands of people try to take illegal drugs into the country every year, but this is the first time they have come across fake bosom implants containing cocaine.

Flights coming from South America, where most of the world's cocaine is produced, are subject to thorough checks.

The young Panamanian woman had flown in from Colombia and initially denied having any illegal drugs on her, police said.

But on closer examination, they were able to see a "white object" through her wounds.

The seized cocaine has a street value of at least 60,000 euros ($80,000; £50,000).

Kidnapped mother of Nigerian finance minister freed

The kidnapped mother of the Nigerian finance minister has been freed, Nigerian officials said Friday, ending the search five days after the elderly retiree was seized outside her home in Delta state.
“The Okonjo family is full of thanks to the Almighty for this happy development,” Paul Nwabuikwu, an adviser to Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said in a Friday statement.
Few details were available about how Kamene Okonjo was returned. Nigerian police could not be reached by phone and did not immediately respond to an email from The Times seeking comment. A police spokesman told Nigerian radio that Okonjo was in good health.
While kidnappings are a frequent menace in the region, the seizure gained international attention because of its target. Okonjo-Iweala is a respected economist who was recently a candidate to lead the World Bank.
The finance minister has campaigned against corruption and recently halted payments to fuel importers to try to better confirm their claims for gasoline subsidies -- a popular program she once tried to stop.
Recent threats against the finance minister spurred questions of whether the kidnappers had a political bent or were simply seeking a financial ransom, a frequent driver of such crimes in Delta. Before her return, police reportedly had arrested 63 people in massive raids searching for Okonjo.
Delta Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan told the BBC that the kidnappers likely freed Okonjo because of the intense pressure.
"The army and police have been on their trail and a lot of raids have been done," he said. "I think because of the heat they dropped her off on the highway."
The crime drew renewed attention to the ongoing scourge of kidnapping in the southern Nigerian state, where police have been suspected of abetting the crime. Bloomberg reported that two police officers had been detained for alleged negligence in the Sunday abduction.
